I finally finished the socks, my first self-designed ones. The pattern in the yarn hides it, so I have to make another pair in plain yarn to show it, but there's a really nice diagonal rib on the legs. They work up really fast in worsted weight yarn, and are nice and warm. They fit inside tennie's if you tie them a bit looser than normal, or you can just use them as house socks.
Diagonal Rib Stitch Socks
Materials:
1 skein I Love This Yarn, #520/Naturals Stripe (Hobby Lobby brand)
1 set size 6 DP needles
1 set size 4 DP needles
tapestry needle
row counter
1 needle protector
Gauge: 5 sts and 7 rows = 1" (stockinette st)
(Hint: To keep accurate track of rows, at beg of Row 1, place point protector on 1st free needle before starting to work. By the time you have worked around the round, the point protector will be in your way of starting the next row. Remove point protector from needle and place on free needle. At the same time, change rows on row counter. If you continue to do this every time you come around on a row, it will make keeping track of your row count easy.)
